Partner with The Washing Machine Project

Partner with Purpose

Whether you’re a global brand, a purpose-driven foundation, or a company seeking meaningful employee engagement, The Washing Machine Project offers lots of opportunities to get involved.

Our work tackles time poverty, empowering predominantly women and girls with opportunities to work, generate income, focus on education and rest.

Our goal is to impact 1,000,000 people by 2030, but we can’t do it alone.

Working with us means joining a growing network of changemakers who believe in laundry as a fundamental human right, and that opportunities should not be based on access to basic services.

We work with forward-thinking brands, foundations and corporations who believe in creating real change.

If your organisation is looking for a meaningful CSR partner or purpose-led campaign, we want to hear from you.

We align with partners who champion:

  • Women’s empowerment

  • Enabling access to education

  • Time and water savings

  • Economic opportunity through income generation

  • Sustainability

We bring these themes to life through storytelling, fieldwork, and content to share across your network.

LOOKING FOR A NEW SOCIAL IMPACT PARTNER?

How we work with Partners

  • Whirlpool Foundation shares our vision that communities and displaced people everywhere should have access to sustainable washing solutions; reducing the physical impact of handwashing clothes and reclaiming the amount of time it takes to simply wash clothes. Together with their history, support and expertise we are aiming to impact up to 150,000 people over the next 5 years. We've already impacted communities across India, Mexico and the Republic of Congo together- and we're just getting started.

  • Since 2021, we’ve impacted over 30,000 lives with the support of RS Group. Providing matched funding, products, skills, volunteering and washing machine build days for employees. From initiatives in Kenya and Uganda, to refugee camps in Greece and wash days for homeless communities in Texas, Pennsylvania and California - RS Group has been integral to getting us where we are today.

  • Jaguar Land Rover has partnered with us to launch their Creativity for Good initiative. In its pilot year JLR and The Washing Machine Project aim to accelerate the creation of a second-generation machine and distribution model for use and production in India that is more sustainable, cheaper to produce and easier to assemble, repair and distribute.

How can you partner with us?

  • Host a Washout Experience for your team. A Washout is a practical, hands-on session where participants hand wash clothes to understand the global burden faced by billions without access to a washing machine.

The experience includes a presentation about who we are, where we work, a washout experience and reflection.

This is a powerful team-building session that encourages empathy and drives home the importance of what we do.

  • Invite a member of The Washing Machine Project to your office or event to share the story of our journey, our impact, and the global problem we are solving.

These talks are engaging, visual and, wherever possible, include a live demonstration using one of our manual washing machines. It is a great way to spark meaningful conversations about innovation, equity, and social responsibility.

This can be combined with a Washout Experience, too!

  • Looking for something hands-on?

Host one of our machine build sessions where your team can help construct one manual washing machine. This activity is an opportunity to learn about the design process and play a direct role in preparing machines for distribution.

Sessions are fully customisable to suit your goals, space, and schedule. They can be hosted in a canteen, hallway, shop floor, outside (summer please!) we can make it work.

If you want to build more than one machine, let us know. Opportunities are limited, but we’d love to make it work.

  • For organisations ready to create significant and measurable impact, we offer opportunities to fund full programme rollouts.

This could include filling an entire shipping container with washing machines and delivering them to families in one of our priority countries.

Funding a programme helps us reach more people, document deeper impact, and scale our innovation where it is needed most.

WE WORK WITH BRANDS

  • We are always open to creative partnerships that blend storytelling, purpose and audience engagement. If your brand aligns with our mission, we can co-create a campaign that resonates deeply with your customers while driving real-world impact.

    Themes we care about include:

    • Women and girls

    • Access to education

    • Water and sanitation

    • Income generation

    • Equity and innovation

  • Many of our partners support us by donating a portion of sales from a specific product, season, or ongoing campaign. This model is simple to set up and provides powerful, measurable outcomes to share with your audience.

If your business is part of the 1% for the Planet network, consider donating to the TWMP Foundation.

FUNDRAISING OPPORTUNITIES

Whether you are an employee looking to fundraise or a company ready to champion a cause, we offer full support to bring your fundraising ideas to life. Past supporters have climbed Mount Kilimanjaro, hiked up Snowdon, and even jumped out of planes to raise awareness and funds for our work.

We can provide branding, fundraising guidance, and access to powerful impact stories so your supporters know exactly where their efforts are going.

All donations and funds go to TWMP Foundation, supporting The Washing Machine Project’s Mission.

TWMP Foundation is a registered UK charity providing funding, oversight, and governance to support The Washing Machine Project’s work.

While the CIC designs and delivers practical solutions like manual washing machines, the Foundation independently reviews and funds eligible charitable projects aligned with our shared mission.
