Since 2019, The Washing Machine Project has directly improved the lives of over 46,000 people through hundreds of Divya Washing Machines distributed across more than 40 programmes globally.
Our work spans multiple countries including Iraq, Poland*, Uganda, the United States, South Africa, Mexico, Kenya, Kiribati, India, Republic of Congo, Greece, Gaza, and Ghana, and we partner with a wide range of organisations, from INGOs, NGOs such as Oxfam, Care International, A Drop in the Ocean, UNHCR and UK Med as well as local charities and organisations such as Alternativas, Aqua, Alight, Tech Ground, AC, Collectivo Tomate, Concern, TASS, Techo, InPact Uganda, Medical Teams International, OFI, Sharana and Kynarou.
Implementation is tailored to meet the partnering regions' specific cultural, economic, and environmental conditions, ensuring the solution is effective and relevant in local contexts.

Handwashing clothes causes back and joint pain and skin irritation. Using the Divya washing machine, allows the user to improve their general health and well-being.

The primary washers in the family are women and girls. The time saving offered could go towards earning a livelihood or education. This is key in promoting gender equality.

The Divya 1.65 saves up to 50% of water per wash cycle compared to handwashing clothes. The water saved can be used for other purposes such as cooking or sanitation.
