Midline Brief - Puebla 2025

Three months after distributing 140 manual washing machines in Puebla, Mexico, The Washing Machine Project’s midline assessment found significant reductions in both washing time and water use. Participants reported an 80% reduction in time spent washing clothes and a 78% reduction in water used per wash, alongside reduced physical effort and high satisfaction with machine performance. Delivered in partnership with Colectivo Tomate, the programme supported both households and community spaces, demonstrating how practical, off-grid washing solutions can create more time for education, rest, work, and wellbeing.
